Michigan- The U.P.

The North Shore of Lake Superior gets most of the attention from tourists.  Many people don't realize that what makes the North Shore great, waterfalls, beaches, state parks, and fall colors, can also be found on the South Shore of Lake Superior.  More specifically, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or the U.P. It takes just a couple of hours to reach the western part of the U.P. from Duluth, MN.  Some of the highlights from the area include Porcupine Mountains State Park, Bond Falls, Agate Falls and The Black River Waterfall Tour, featuring 5 waterfalls on a 20 mile journey to the Lake. In the fall, the colors in the U.P rival the North Shore without question.  Here is my collection from the U.P.  I have much more to explore in this area.  There is a lot of area to cover and I've basically only seen the western side of it.
